Individual test cylinder for rocket test rig

FORM+TEST supplied test cylinders for tests on an ARIANE 6 rocket segment at the VZLU (VÝZKUMNÝ A ZKUŠEBNÍ LETECKÝ ÚSTAV, A.S, CZECH AEROSPACE RESEARCH CENTER) in Prague.

The special feature about the test cylinders is the high-precision measuring technology for the force with several redundant measuring circuits. In interaction with the control technology available at the customer, the calibration class 0.5 could be proven to 1% of the nominal load, both in tension and in compression. Appropriate swivel bearings were provided for connecting the cylinders. After the successful calibration and commissioning, we asked Jan Heřman (responsible for measurement and control technology in the aviation team) to report on his experiences
